The Buzz

Been getting a lot press lately and it’s good but looking at this one now makes me a lil uncomfortable, honestly. I’ve been recognized as one of the 13 “Buzz Makers” of 2013 by ECS Media’s Fr!day Magazine. I am honored to be in the same category as Guiness World Record holders, influential politicians, and international athletes. Thank #ECS Media. However, there are hella lot more women doing amazing stuff. Off rip I got 23 people in my head. Especially now, we got more kickass women than ever before. Damn. Look at what Haushala Zimba is doing. See.

“Bhanubhakta”

BhanubhaktaI wrote “Bhanubhakta” in Nepali graffiti letters across this massive wall (in Gairidhara, Kathmandu, Nepal) because he is the great poet of Nepal who translated the Hindu epic, Ramayana into Nepali from Sanskrit at a time when Nepali was considered nothing more than the commoners’ bastardized language.

The poet understood the importance of making The Ramayana available to households beyond that of the privileged few. He did what what he knew was right and this inspires me.

The background of the wall has the first and the fourth paragraph from The Ramayana which still makes sense till this day (google Ramayana to read the paragraphs)

This wall of words is a tribute to the great Nepali poet, Bhanubhakta Acharya, whose words and work changed so many lives.

Birthday Blast

Birthday Blast

June 1st this year was a blur because I was practicing my pitch for the fellowship summit. I knew that if I got the award, I knew I’d be celebrating something bigger.

Once the summit was over on June 5th and I won the World Learning Advancing Leaders Fellowship, it was time to celebrate!

I spent the entire month of June in California, meeting other artists, painting walls and leaving my mark, making new friends, eating good food, biking on the Golden Gate bridge and just straight up CHILLIN’

I need to go back and live in California some day. #bucketlist
