I wrote “Bhanubhakta” in Nepali graffiti letters across this massive wall (in Gairidhara, Kathmandu, Nepal) because he is the great poet of Nepal who translated the Hindu epic, Ramayana into Nepali from Sanskrit at a time when Nepali was considered nothing more than the commoners’ bastardized language.
The poet understood the importance of making The Ramayana available to households beyond that of the privileged few. He did what what he knew was right and this inspires me.

This wall of words is a tribute to the great Nepali poet, Bhanubhakta Acharya, whose words and work changed so many lives.
